I really think that South Africa has some of the best jewellery design talent around! I’m always discovering new designers I love, and today found Anna Rosholt. I’m a fan of the beetles, bees and bananas (bananas about the beetles and bees?).

Delightful minimalist jewellery from Knobbly Studio. Love!
Not Tuesday on a Monday
I love these pieces from Rachel Wightman, creator of not Tuesday. Simple shapes, gorgeous hues and joyful colour clashes. Beautiful!
Etsy ears
Let’s imagine for a moment that South Africa’s postal service wasn’t shot (and I had a beefy budget). I think it’s fair to say I’d shop-til-I-dropped on Etsy. Not that it’s easy to find exactly what you want on the site. It’s super frustrating in many ways, much like sifting meticulously through sale rails (a skill I don’t have). You know the good stuff is there, you just can’t find it without trawling through the worst of flea-market trinkets. And then, voilà! You happen upon beauty!
Here’s my fantasy list (on an ear theme … it’s mid-winter here and my ears are possibly my best feature right now).
Spectacular antique rings
I’ve been a fan of Erica Weiner for a good few years now, and when I saw these antique rings I had a real swoon. I mean, how magnificent? I think any one of them would look just lovely on one of my fingers.
Young Frankk
Based in New York (like I need another reason to visit) is jewellery line Young Frankk, designed by Christine Young. Such understated, exquisite pieces. My favourite is the Caverna necklace.
Dear Rae
I’m in love with the tropsi range from Dear Rae. Looking through this collection I’m transported to the Natal coast and a sultry December holiday! Delicious monster is my favourite! Isn’t it the most fabulous name for a plant?!
Missibaba Colour Block
I’ll have some of these, thanks.
